The US-made EV promises 2024 with a price tag of $ 29,900

Affordable electric vehicles are still hard to come by but Fischer wants to replace them with a new model code-named project PEAR, which is set to go on sale in 2024.

Henrik Fischer, CEO and founder of Fischer, posted a new teaser image of PEAR on social media on Thursday. It still gives our car its best look, which seems to be a cross between an SUV and a hatchback, somewhat like a Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.

PEAR is just a code name. It’s an acronym for “Personal Electric Automotive Revolution,” and Fischer describes the car as an agile urban EV. It will measure about 177 inches in length, or slightly smaller than the smaller EVs like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Volkswagen ID.4 and will be able to get five seats.

The car will have intuitive controls, sporty driving features and an early focus on the industry, Fischer said. The company says it will reduce the number of parts and simplify the design to help reduce costs – something that is crucial if Fischer plans to stick to its PEAR offer with a starting price of just $ 29,900 before offering incentives.

Another strategy to cover the cost would be to outsource production to Foxconn, which will produce pear at a plant in Lordstown, Ohio. Foxconn acquired the plant from Lordstown Motors earlier this year and will also use it to make Lordstown endurance electric pickup trucks.

Fischer says PEAR will embark on a new platform that is thought to have evolved from a modular platform originally created by Foxconn. Fischer says the platform will underpin two more models outside of PEAR. Fischer’s first car, a small electric SUV in the ocean, uses a separate platform from Magna Stear, an Austrian company that Fisker has contracted to build at sea since November. Prices for The Ocean start at 37,499.

Fischer is aiming for an annual production of up to 250,000 units for PEAR and may add production to a different site to meet its demands. The company has previously said that a prototype would be unveiled before 2023, and Henrik Fischer said in his latest social media post that the prototype could be unveiled before his original plan.

Fischer is said to be operating at least two additional vehicles, although these are high-quality vehicles with limited production. One is a sports car code-named Ronin, a teaser that was released in early May The other is thought to be an SUV.
