Leader Getting ready to give us a “first look” at its upcoming 7 Polyester 5 All-electric liftback at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed before launching in production form in 2024.
Set for debut on June 23, the Swedish-Chinese automaker will showcase a prototype version of the Polyester 5 and “complete several drives up the hill during the event”.
With this announcement comes a single image showing the Polyester 5 prototype covering the entire car with a black-and-white camouflage.
Despite the camouflage, we already know what the polyester 5 will look like on the exterior for the patent images submitted by polyester to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Although the overall silhouette and design have been retained from the concept concept based on which, there are some significant changes. These include a lack of rear hinged rear doors, more visible flash-fitting door handles and regular mirrors instead of camera pods.
All these design changes are also reflected in this disguised prototype.
As previously detailed, the Polyester 5 will be made in an aluminum chassis that will apparently be tougher than current two-door sports cars or supercars, according to Polyester.
The Swedish-Chinese automaker did not elaborate on the four-door Grand Toure’s electric powertrain, power and torque output, battery size and range.
Polyester has confirmed that the limited-edition Polyester 2 BST version 270 will also debut at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. This high-performance polyester 2 is not currently limited to Australia.

Polyester has made several car debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the past few years. These include the Polyester 1 prototype in 2018 and the single experimental Polyester 2 in 2021.
Other vehicles on display at the 2022 event include the original Concept Concept, O2 Convertible Concept, Polyester 1, Experimental Polyester 2 and Regular Polyester 2.
Interestingly, the Polestar 3 SUV missing from its Goodwood plan is the one that was recently fully unveiled for the first time.

When launched in 2023, the larger SUV will face the BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUVs and is ready to lead the charge of the Polyester brand in the United States.
Polyester is targeting more than 600km in WLTP test cycles from its dual-motor powertrain. For context, the longest-range iX will do up to 620km.
Underneath the skin, Polyester 3 shares its bones with the next-generation Volvo XC90 – probably known as the Embla. It will be made in China and the United States, with production set to begin in early 2023.

Polyester 2
Australia is considered an important launch market for polyester and we fully expect that 3 will be produced in the right drive for our market.
Polyester has bold expansion plans. It aims to launch a new model every year from now until 2024 and will expand to 30 markets by 2030.
It wants to sell 29,000 to 290,000 per year by 2025.
Polyester is a Swedish-based joint venture company run by Volvo and its Chinese parent Gili Holding. The company is set to set an upcoming Nasdaq SPAC IPO to close this year.
