The new track takes the star to the ring

Porsche has just launched the new GT3 based on the 992-Generation 911, but more hardcore GT3 RS variants are already in the final stages of testing.

A prototype has been spotted on the streets around N নrburging and German racetracks, and it is devoid of all the disguised gear seen by previous testers.

Compared to the GT3, the GT3 RS tester uses extra vents in the hood and front fenders that contain some active ingredients. There is a huge, dual-element rear wing with more aggressive front splitter, new side skirt and swan-neck strut. The wing has an active ingredient.

The GT3 RS prototype also shows the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 265 / 35R20 size after 2 tires on the front and 325 / 30R21 on the back. Huge carbon-ceramic brake rotors can also be seen housed in center-lock wheels.

Engineers have also tried to hide car side intakes, a common feature of the GT3 RS, but not the GT3.

Power will likely be combined with a 4.0-liter Flat-6 as standard on an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The previous GT3 RS had a peak output of 520 hp and 346 lb-ft of torque from a similar engine, and we can expect some improvement for the new generation.

Although the GT3 Porsche is closely related to the 911 GT3 Cup race car, the GT3 RS takes on a more extreme 911 GT3 R after the racer. While Porsche has also been seen testing the new GT3 R based on the 992-Generation 911, the development of race cars is likely to be closely linked to this new GT3 RS. Remember, Porsche’s GT3 and GT3 RS are built alongside their motorsport siblings.

An element from the GT3’s unique racing and thus this GT3 RS is probably a double wishbone front suspension that is tougher and more stable with less body movement under braking than the MacPherson strut used in other 911 variants.

We expect the new GT3 RS to debut in 2022 as the 2023 model. The related GT3 R race car is also expected in 2022
