Overnight Honda’s American division completely unveiled its new 2023 HR-V The crossover, which we believe will be sold as the rest of the world ZR-V.
In mid-May, Honda in Europe confirmed that it would add a new crossover model to its range in 2023. The new model dubbed ZR-V will fit between Jazz-based HR-V and CR-V.
We have every reason to suspect that a light tweaked version of the ZR-V will be marketed in the state as the new HR-V.
The exterior of the American HR-V was unveiled in early April, but the company did not provide any pictures of the interior, nor did it provide any details about the drivetrain, dimensions or specifications. Those omissions have now been corrected.
When launched in the states, the new HR-V will be available with only one engine option: a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine Ready 118 kW At 6500rpm, and 187Nm At 4200rpm.
It is exclusively connected to one Continuous variable transmissionBuyers, however, can choose between front- or all-wheel drive.
Heel descent control is standard for both front- and all-wheel drive models, and allows the driver to choose a constant descent speed between 3 and 19 km / h.
The ZR-V models sold in Europe will be paired exclusively with the hybrid drivetrain, but details have not yet been released.
Based on the latest Civic platform, the American HR-V Trick misses the magic seats that engulf the nameplate elsewhere, but it also has many more interior rooms, as well as a McPherson strut front suspension and independent multi-link rear suspension. .
American HR-V Hall 4567 mm long, 1839 mm wide, 1610 mm and 1621 mm longAnd a ride on 2654 mm wheelbase.
This means it has a wheelbase 232 mm long, 49 mm wide, at least 20 mm long, and 44 mm longer than the Global HR-V.
It’s not much smaller than the current CR-V, but filings in China show that the next-generation CR-V will ride 4703mm long, 1866mm wide, 1690mm long and a 2700mm wheelbase.
Once the CR-V roll out is complete, the new American HR-V / Global ZR-V will have a smack bang lying between its two relatives.
The new Stateside HR-V most clearly shows its civic influence in the newly unveiled cabin. Like the Civic, the HR-V’s dashboard has a mesh strip that extends from the central air vent to the passenger side door frame.
Although not a straight lift, the HR-V has a rounder dashboard top and various center tunnels with a traditional gear shifter in the middle.
Top-end models come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring and a 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen.
The lower variant has a 7.0-inch touchscreen and only wired CarPlay and Android Auto. A 7.0-inch multi-information display is standard on American HR-V models.
Standard security features include a wide-angle front camera, traffic jam assist, front knee bag, traffic sign recognition and driver attention monitoring at Stateside. Improved Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist systems.
Depending on the trim level, the HR-V is either on 17-inch wheels with 215/60 tires or on 18-inch rims with 225/55 rubber.
