Hyundai India Has officially teased the upcoming 2023 Venue FaceliftJust a few days after the final design rendering was leaked online.
The Facelifted Venue – featured here in a series of sketches and a shady video – will show off a look inspired by the brand’s new sensitive sportiness design concept, which seems to take hints from the larger Palisade and Tucson.
The company says the updated venue’s target demographic needs are “future technology, spacious interiors, comfort, style and security – and the new model is designed to meet those tastes.”
Key elements highlighted in the teasers include a dark chrome front grille and the available LED tail lights that we expected included a full-width light bar instead of a reflective treatment. Watch the video above for more.
There is no sketch or render of the interior yet, but despite the advanced display and technology, we hope to present the cabin as the current model.
We anticipate that the standard 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit will be replaced by a larger 10.25-inch unit on higher-grade models, and more Hyundai SmartSense features (such as adaptive cruise control and enhanced blind-spot support) will be available depending on the market. . A digital instrument cluster may also be in store.
The design sketches confirm that the renders we saw earlier this week are at least accurate for the Indian-market model. Australian venues are sourced from Korea, such as the North American model, where the Indian vehicle is slightly smaller and locally made.
Indian models also offer an alternative to a 1.0 T-GDi three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, similar to the locally available units on the Kia Rio and Stunik. Australian models, at least for now, are only available with the 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine.
Hyundai Australia has again declined to comment on whether the previewed venue Facelift indicates a future update for the local model. The timing of the Indian update suggests, however, that Australia will see a mid-life improvement in 2023.
As of 30 April, Hyundai Venue is Australia’s third best-selling light SUV segment, according to VFACTS data.
With 2,647 units registered (YTD) per year, the venue grew 37.2 percent by the end of April this year, and only Mazda CX-3 (3480 units, -44.3 percent) and Toyota Yaris Cross (3040 units, +9.7 percent). Venue is even ahead of its Kia Stonic cousin (2569 units, +46.5 percent).
