New Competition Package for Audi RS4 And RS5 Promises better handling, better performance, stealthy looks and more sound.
The 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 The petrol engine is unchanged, though, and is rated 331 kW And 600Nm.
It is an eight-speed automatic transmission with modified software that reduces shift time and is paired with an all-wheel drive system.
Expect more roar from the V6 engine as the competition packs a new sports exhaust with matte black exhaust tips and removes about eight kilograms of noise reduction insulation.
Other changes include a dynamic steering ratio, recalibrated ABS setup, a restored Quattro Sport differential that “puts more emphasis on the back” and ceramic brakes.
Audi says the competition model requires less than two meters when it comes to a full stop from 100km / h.
The RS4 Avant Competition Matrix comes with LED headlights, while both RS5 body style laser light units.
One of the many car options is a compatible coil-over suspension system that sits 10mm lower on the ground than the regular RS4 / RS5 model and can be lowered by the driver by a further 10mm.
Also available are 20-inch alloy wheels matched with sticker Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, carbon-fiber exterior trim pieces and seat fabric made from partially recycled PET plastic bottles.
All of these changes mean the RS4 Avant Competition Plus has a 0-100km / h time of 3.9 seconds, a 0.2s improvement.
The RS5 Coupe and Liftback Competition Plus models handle the same feat in 3.8 seconds, or 0.1 seconds better than their regular counterparts. All competing models have been upgraded to an electronically limited top speed of 290 km / h.
RS4 and RS5 competition packages will be available in European showrooms from July this year, but we look forward to hearing more about Australian availability and pricing.
