Tesla Motor Australia Total has issued a revocation notice 4287 An example of this Model 3 Electric sedan – due to a software problem that may cause the infotainment central processing unit (CPU) to overheat while charging too fast.
This recall affects the Model 3 sedan sold from 2021 to 2022
Instead of having to fix it personally, Tesla has implemented an over-the-air update that says it will lower the temperature of the infotainment system when charging faster.
“Due to a software problem, charging the car too fast can cause the Infotainment Central Processing Unit (CPU) to overheat,” the company said in its withdrawal notice.
“If the CPU is overheated, the center screen display may recede or show blank.”
“If the center screen fades or becomes blank, drive mode selection (drive, neutral or reverse), rearview camera display, window wiper control settings and warning light may be unavailable.”
If you own a damaged vehicle, you’ll need to download an over-the-air software update that will lower the temperature of the infotainment system while charging faster.
You will receive a notification in your car that an update is available and you need to make sure that it has been properly downloaded and installed.
