BMW 3.0 CSL
In the early years, Turing cars competed under Group 2 regulations, including the BMW 3.0 CSL, which was designed specifically for motor sports. The title of the two-door coupe was a reference to “coupe, sport, lightweight”. The Coupe was the top model in BMW’s great Coupe series, launched in 1968, and was an exceptionally successful touring car. The BMW 3.0 CSL won a total of six titles at the European Touring Car Championships, the first being in 1973.
