Electric grand touring has been completed correctly

When talking about electric cars, especially online, we often consume excessive amounts of range statistics and charging times. I can’t remember the last time I thought about how far a gas powered car can go. There is a good reason for this. We can’t top up an EV in a minute and be set for hours again. However, EVs are a stage where you can forget the range concerns. On average, Americans drive about 29 miles per day, which means that any electric vehicle with a range of at least 200 miles is suitable for one week’s journey.

I brought it to the top of the review for a good reason. The car I’m testing this week is a 2022 Audi E-Tron GT6 On paper, its EPA estimated 238 miles range lags behind important competitors, especially new EV startups like Rivian or Lucid. This is important because Audi claims it is its first electric grand tour. However, with the exception of miles, the E-Tron GT offers the best driving experience that seems expensive. With a tested price of $ 118,740, this is a must have, for any Affiliate, promoting any program. Combine this with the best business look, a cabin covered in premium materials and you’ll find a full stop, one of my favorite cars, not one of the best EVs I’ve ever driven.

As much as I enjoy running mile after mile in a six-digit Audi, I like to look at it whenever I stop for food or charge. I must first admit that the front end of the E-Tron GT was not love at first sight. The glossy black trim on the front looked more like a mouthpiece than anything else. However, I sold out as soon as I saw my tester’s tactical green metallic paint and how good it is in contrast to black. From there, you’ll find a 20-inch five-spoke wheel that is about an inch too small but still looks quite elegant.

As your eyes go to the back, you will notice a more glossy black on the roof and a sloping roof line at the back. The central part of the show, of course, is the hips of this car. I know we’re driving with wide arches, but the e-tron manages to extend nicely backwards. With no sharp creases anywhere, the E-Tron looks smooth and elegant. A personal highlight is the wrapped tail light that apparently hugs the arches behind it. They not only have an exciting light signature, but they also help visually widen the car. They help you do a weird dance as soon as you unlock the thing.

I would add a warning that the good looks of the E-Tron GT largely depend on its color. Stick with more executive-friendly shades of white, black or silver and you’ll lose the magic sauce. This car is best suited for fun colors, with plenty of Audi. If it’s my money, Tango Red or Ascari Blue would be the best way to go.

Performance / handling

Photos of this Tactical Green E-Tron GT are easy to see and forget that it is technically a base model. Audi makes a hot RS version for an extra ,000 40,000 However, after spending time in both cases, it is difficult to support the recommendation of a range-topping variant. It all comes down to the fact that the “base” e-Tron GT is still rapidly evolving. It produces 469 horsepower and 464 foot-pounds of torque. If “Boost Mode” is set, it will pump up to 522 hp for a short time. Flat out, it will run 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 152 miles per hour.

Of course, the RS is still relatively fast on paper, running at 590 hp on tap and 612 pound-feet of torque and running 60 miles per 3.1 seconds. However, these differences are not as significant as in the real world. In the vicinity of the city, the E-Tron GT and RS models match equally, come out of the stop lights and quickly reduce traffic. The main differences come when you take them across a speed limit on a canyon road. For daily commute, it’s better to spend that $ 40,000 elsewhere.

Unlike other EVs, the E-Tron GT has a dual-speed transmission. This may not seem like a big deal, but it does solve one of the biggest problems with EV’s current crop. Electric cars we know that line off quickly. However, once you get up to speed, they don’t pick up that much speed. This is the solution to that infection. The e-Tron GT rocket moves forward, whatever the speed, it feels faster than real world statistics.

More luxury car reviews

When you show it some angle, E-Tron GT is willing to play. Its excellent handling skills are due to the fact that it has DNA in its portfolio. This “base” GT is the equivalent of a Taycan 4S, which means it may look like an Audi, but it operates as vaguely as a Porsche. I say vaguely because it has become softer than its electric siblings. Of course, its range is relatively low in the canyons because it rolls a bit and tends to go much lower. But around town, the E-Tron is undoubtedly more comfortable between the two and I personally like to enter every day.

So we know it’s fairly fast and it handles well, but the e-tron isn’t without flaws. The two notable disadvantages of this car are its steering wheel and its brakes. On the steering front, it’s very Audi in the sense that it’s fast and straight but it doesn’t lack any feel. The first sign you are beginning to underestimate will come from the screaming of the tire, not the communicative steering. The brakes are reversed. The paddle feel is quite decent, and they are easy to module. The problem is that there is not enough braking power, especially in a car that weighs like a three-row SUV.

Range / charging

The E-Tron GT has a bit of an ace in the range division. According to EPA estimates, this car will be able to cover 238 miles on a full charge. However, during a road trip from Los Angeles to San Diego, I was able to easily cross 250 miles. Talking to other colleagues, their experiences are largely the same, so it seems that these official figures are quite conservative.

Once you stop and charge, however, it will happen quickly. The E-Tron GT has a 93 kWh battery pack and an 800-volt architecture. In short, this means that GT should be able to maintain as charging speeds increase in the coming years. For now, it can charge up to 270 kilowatts, which gives you a range of about 120 miles per 10 minutes, or about 80 percent for just over 20 minutes. In my experience running it around Los Angeles, finding chargers was no problem, and it seems that Electrify America has made significant progress in determining how its chargers work properly.

Internal / Technology

Inside, the Audi E-Tron GT is like a normal car. I’m highlighting that it’s not trying to be overly futuristic. You won’t find static air vents like Taycan or all body buttons omitted. I can’t praise Audi enough for sticking to a standard cabin with this car. Everything is where you want it to be and easy to manage. On the driver’s front, the dashboard contains a 12.3-in digital instrument cluster complemented by a 10.1-in screen. The Audi cluster is easily one of my favorites, the graphics are nice, and all the information you want is easily accessible and readable at a glance.

On the front, you get 14-way adjustable seats as standard with both cold and hot. If you choose the full skin interior option like my tester, you will also get a massage option. These chairs were great for my long drive south, supporting my back in all the right places and providing endless comfort. The same goes for the rest of the cabin. The highway is quiet. This is until you lower your legs and hear the sound of Audi’s extra acceleration. It comes smoothly, so it does not disturb the overall comfort of the interior.

So it looks good, drives well and is a luxurious place. As you can imagine, it all comes at a cost and with E-Tron GT, starting at $ 100,945 with a চার 1,045 destination charge. As tested, the car I’m driving comes in at $ 118,740, including the $ 6,000 performance package, the লে 4,000 full leather interior, and the $ 7,200 Prestige package. After spending a week behind the wheel, it is clear that this car offers a worthwhile driving experience. At every turn, the E-Tron GT feels expensive. However, my biggest recurring thought was how much less I missed RS. That as-tested price is still $ 40,000 below an equivalent RS; Where I stand, I can’t support it.

Closing Thoughts

The Audi E-Tron GT is a car that nurtures the basics of what makes a great traveler. It’s comfortable, fast, and wonderful to look at. However, once you take it down a ravine it doesn’t fall into its mouth. It’s more than a willing dance partner through the corner. While it may be softer than its Porsche siblings, it is more comfortable around town. Couple with a world-class interior, and you’ll get an EV that may not be the best on paper but in the real world where it’s really important.
