Crossover like coupe is coming with lots of technology

A redesigned Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class debuted earlier this month and we now have new spy shots and a prototype video for the more dynamic styled GLC-Class coupe alternative to small crossovers.

Variants like the regular crossover and coupe may be even more different with the new GLC-class generation, especially with the rear design of this GLC-class coupe whose hunchbacks and ductel spoilers are much more obvious than the current model.

For SUVs with crossover and rear-wheel drive on Mercedes’ MHA (Modular High Architecture) platform, the new GLC-Class coupe will share its core with the current model. But this generation should be lighter for weight saving through increased use of aluminum on steel.

Powertrains should be shared with regular GLC-class, meaning only 4-cylinder engines, including the redesigned GLC 43 and GLC 63 from AMG. See a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 and light-hybrid setup with a base GLC 300 grade 258 hp. A similar setup but should be featured in GLC 43 with 402 hp while a plug-in hybrid setup that offers more than 600 hp should be featured in GLC 63, which is planned for the new generation of C 43 and C 63 sedans.
