Cadillac’s new project GTP Race Car will compete for the 24-hour Le Mans victory

Cadillac’s new racing hypercar is focused on winning Le Mans.

With plans to compete in the 2023 IMSA and WEC Championships, Cadillac’s new project is an exciting development in the racing effort of the GTP Hypercar brand. This will mark Cadillac’s return to Le Mans after a long 20 years, and Cadillac is excited to showcase its technology, engineering and racing skills that are arguably the world’s leading racing stage. At the same time, Project GTP’s unique design language is not only reserved for race cars, it also promises to inform Cadillac design for future production vehicles.

Project GTP will be powered by a 5.5-liter V8 engine that will be mated to the LMDh hybrid system and will have its first race in 2023 on the Detonar Rolex 24. Aiming to build on the brand’s motorsport legacy, Cadillac’s achievements include 3 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship wins in 2021, 2018 and 2017, 4 consecutive Rolex 24 wins at Daytona from 2017-2020, 4 Michelin North American Endurance Cup wins, 201201 and P2019. World Challenge Manufacturers Championship, as well as 5 Drivers Championship.
