Cadillac Celestiq teased design details

Cadillac on Wednesday released a few teaser images for the concept version of its upcoming Celestiq electric luxury sedan.

The images show wheels, taillights and, unusually, door hinges that Cadillac calls a celestic “show car.” This concept version will probably get a full release later this year.

The Celestiq is expected to be a large fastback sedan that will serve as a true flagship for Cadillac. It will be high quality and exclusive, Cadillac plans to make cars at just 1.2 per day.

Based on the teaser before the January 2021 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), we know that Celestiq will have a high-tech four-panel glass roof. It is made of suspended-particle-device smart glass, which allows the driver and passengers to set the level of transparency individually. This means that one person may choose an opaque setting while others soak up the sun’s rays.

The Cadillac also hints at a dashboard-wide display screen, with additional screens between the first and second rows that will give residents their own personalized zone. Cadillac further confirmed that the Celestiq will have all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering. Like GM’s other new EVs, it will use Automaker’s Ultium modular battery system and component sets.

The Celestiq 2023 Cadillac Lyriq electric SUV, which has just started production, will go on sale shortly thereafter. The Lyriq 340-hp launches in the form of a rear-wheel drive with an estimated 312-mile range and a base price of $ 62,990. An all-wheel drive version will follow the 2023 calendar year, boasting at least 500 hp.
