Usually, we hear of cars taking on dinosaurs. For the Bugatti Chiran Super Sport, it’s the complete opposite.
The dynamometer is the place where cars undergo a controlled, purposeful and respectable test. In Dino, cars can show their performance through sheer numbers and hopefully prove it or even the manufacturer claims they are capable. Being one of the most powerful cars in the world, the Bugatti Chiran Super Sport is bound to show quite a bit on the dynamometer, and it did just that. In fact, Bugatti has confirmed the use of a special type of dynamometer to test the Chiron Super Sport, as conventional, two-roller dynamometers will not be able to handle the full capacity of the Chiron Super Sport.

There are several advantages to being able to use a single-roller dynamometer. The car’s wheel dynamometer has only one touchpoint, which makes it a more realistic test that matches well with on-road behavior. Also, the wheel slip and flex are reduced, and performance is captured more. Finally, and most importantly for a car like the Chiron Super Sport, the single-roller dynamometer is capable of speeds of around 250 miles per hour, and the Chiron Super Sport pushes it to its limits. At 260 mph, tires rotate more than 50 times per second, and the tire tread is subject to 4,000 times more gravity, which is incredibly intense for cars and dinosaurs. This special single-roller dino was created specifically for the fastest cars in the world, and this means that simulation tests can be run for the first time with the Bugatti Chiran Super Sport. The Dino has recorded around 1200 lb / ft of torque and about 1600 horsepower, and while we already know that the Chiron Super Sport is one of the best cars ever made, it could not be more satisfying to be proved with a Dino.
