Starting in 2023, Acura’s new race car is taking over the track.
The LMDh race car category has already seen manufacturers build prototypes and prepare them for next year’s race, and Acura has joined that list. The stand for the new ARX-06 prototype, “Acura Racing Experimental, Generation 6” is styled by Acura Design Studios in Los Angeles with Acura’s new race car, Honda Performance Development and chassis-supplier ORECA.

Dave Marek, Acura’s executive creative director, says the process of designing the ARX-06 involves a different process than the Acura passenger car. After the initial sketch was created, a design was chosen through the advice of modeling, aerodynamics testing and performance experts who would know what is best for racing success. Acura endurance racing prototypes began in 1991, just five years after Acura launched its brand in 1986. Racing success is also not new to Acura. In 2019 and 2020, Acura has won three major IMSA DPi Championships and Rolex 24 at Daytona in both 2021 and 2022. Acura is very optimistic for this upcoming LMDh car to continue the legacy of motorsport success, along with other podium finishes around the world. .
