This is our best look at the upcoming, all-electric Polyester 5 Liftback before launch in 2024.
According to a patent image filed by Polyster on May 18 at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), Polyster 5 looks a bit like a tone-down version of the concept concept released in 2020.
We’ve seen a few different angles of the upcoming Polyester 5 before it was announced, but these patented images give us a glimpse into each single aspect.
Although the overall silhouette and design have been retained from the prototype, there are some significant changes. These include a lack of rear hinged rear doors, more visible flash-fitting door handles and regular mirrors instead of camera pods.
On the front, the Production Polyester 5 has a split headlight design with daytime running light at the top and main low and high-beams at the bottom. There is also a small air vent integrated in the headlight section below.
Other notable design features on the front include a front camera, a low air intake and a front splitter.
As seen earlier, the back of the Polyester 5 has a very shallow windscreen, covering only half of the expected area.
Below is a high-mounted rear-view camera, full-width light bar and a large diffuser.
Polyester Electric didn’t give full details of the interior design for Fastback, but a previous teaser image partially showed that its design is true with the concept’s minimalist dashboard.
The driver has a small instrumentation screen on the front, while the center has a large portrait-based touchscreen, probably running Google Android Automotive OS.

Polyester 5 -
Polyester concept concept
As previously detailed, the Polyester 5 will be built into an aluminum chassis that will apparently be tougher than current two-door sports cars or supercars, according to Polyester.
The Swedish-Chinese automaker did not disclose details of the four-door Grand Toure’s electric powertrain, such as its power and torque output, battery size and range.
As mentioned earlier, Polyester plans to release Polyester 5 in 2024.
Polyester’s first vehicle locally was the Polyester 2 electric sedan. It hits early 2022 and shares its CMA underpinnings with the Volvo XC40.
Polyester recently confirmed that it plans to release its next car, the Polyester 3 “Electric Performance SUV” in October 2022.
Set to be produced in the United States and China, Polyester was previously previewed in the form of black-and-white camouflage prototypes.

Polyester 2 -
Polyester 3 prototype
The Polestar 3 will be a smooth replica of the next generation Volvo XC90 that shares its SPA2 architecture.
Also included is the Polyester 4, a smaller coupe SUV, which is planned to be released in 2023.
As previously reported, Polyester Gore Guggenheim wants to merge with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) and be listed on Nasdaq. The deal is expected to close immediately.
