SsangYong has confirmed that the Torres comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, with all-wheel drive optional.

Torres’ Petrol Four will be tasked with bringing a car that weighs 1520kg in 2WD camouflage and 1610kg in all-wheel drive camouflage.
In contrast, the EX camouflage of the front wheel drive of the Corando weighs 1396 kg and the diesel, all-wheel drive Ultimate trim weighs 1565 kg.
An electric version of the Terrace is expected, and it could even borrow its powertrain from a Corando.
In the E-Motion camouflage, the electric Korando has a 61.5kWh battery and a front-mounted electric motor with 140kW of power, claiming a WLTP range of 339km.

At least in Korea, the base model is standardized with synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, LED headlights, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and automatic climate control.
The flagship T7 includes ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, ambient lighting and an eight-way power driver seat.
All versions have a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, including an 8.0-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster for climate control.

The Torres are intended to slot into SsangYong’s line-up between Korando and Rexton, although SsangYong has yet to confirm whether it is a Unibody crossover like the former or a traditional, body-on-frame SUV like the latter.
Even though it is a crossover, it has more butcher styling than any other SsangYong model, with a florid fender, a faulty extra wheel carrier and a jeep-like slotted grille.
If it relates to the Corando below, it would make the relationship between Torres and Corando similar to the Ford Bronco Sport and Ford Escape.
SsangYong has previously confirmed that its EV range will increase to include a related ute and has teased a rough-looking, small SUV codenamed KR10, inspired by the Korando generation before it became a unibody crossover.
Most recently, it confirmed that an electric SUV codenamed E100 will be launched in the second half of 2023.
The company is in the process of re-auctioning to find a new buyer following an acquisition by Korean electric bus maker Edison Motors.
KG Group A consortium led by KG Group has been selected as the initial bidder.
SsangYong has until October 15 to find a new owner and submit a new restructuring plan to the Seoul Bankruptcy Court.
It says it aims to sign an agreement in early July and submit its plan to the court by the end of that month for approval by the end of August.
