The next generation Kia Nero Will be here before the end of June.
Hybrid and electric (EV) versions of the eco-friendly crossover will be available in both entry-level S and the new GT-Line flagship trim layer.
GT-Line versions of the Niro Hybrid (HEV) and Niro EV will also debut Kia Connect for the Australian market, a net-based telematics system that brings online functions and remote services to the infotainment system and Kia Connect smartphone app.

The energy of the Nero hybrid (HEV) comes from a 1.6-liter naturally-desired direct-injection petrol engine Combined with electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack “featuring advanced cooling, friction and combustion technology”.
They make their own petrol engines 77.2kW And 144NmWhen e-motor develops a quote 32 kW. Together, the power sources are combined for the outputs 104 kW And 265Nm – Similar to the outgoing model despite the development.
The drive is attached to the front wheels via a second-generation six-speed dual-clutch automatic, which the company says has been carefully engineered and optimized to increase efficiency and reduce weight.
Fuel consumption is rated at an economy 4.0L / 100km On the combined cycle. The previous model used 3.8L / 100km in the Base S trim and 4.4L / 100km in the high-grade Sport camouflage.

The new Niro EV, meanwhile, exchanges oily bits for a 150kW / 255Nm Electric motors with single-speed transmission, hooked up to a 64.8kWh Battery pack.
Like the Nero Hybrid, the EV only drives the front wheel.
Kia claims the new Nero EV could travel 460 kilometers On charge, an improvement of 5km over the previous generation model, although interestingly the peak torque is 145Nm less in older cars.
Like its predecessor, the EV offers a regenerative braking system with selectable levels of power recovery, as well as an adaptive mode that calculates the amount of region needed using radar and road gradient information.

The full price and specification for the new generation Nero family will be detailed near the launch later this month.
While Kia will undoubtedly want to increase Niro’s market share locally, initial supply at launch will be relatively tough at around 100-150 units per month.
The company expects GT-Lines to be responsible for a diagonal sale with the Nero EV GT-line.
