The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 The range is getting a new interior and a new flagship variant to replace the popular Ram 1500 and the upcoming Ford F-150.
GMSV has detailed the 2023 range, which will continue to be manufactured in North America and will be re-engineered for right-hand drive locally in Melbourne.

The full specification, dimensions, and towing capabilities of the ZR2 have not yet been released as the certification process continues.
It’s a new off-road-based variant of the Silverado 1500 range, though not as extreme as the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram 1500 TRX.
Off-road gear includes electronic locking front and rear differential, multimetric DSSV spool-valve dampers, 33-inch mud terrain tires, and a unique front bumper designed for improved off-road durability and clearance.
It promises to be more off-road-capable than the outgoing LT Trail Boss, featuring only a mechanical locking rear differential.
At its release in September 2021, Chevrolet has also confirmed that it will offer a terrain mode that allows one-pedal rock crawling.
It is distinguished from the LTZ Premium by its black chrome grille, unique badges, more aggressive wheel arch flares, black bonnet inserts and 18-inch shiny black alloy wheels.
Inside, it features a jet black / graystone leather-trimmed interior dark trim.
Like the LTZ Premium, it is powered by a naturally-desired 6.2-liter V8 engine with 313kW of power and 624Nm of torque, combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The design changes to the 2023 Silverrado range include a modified front fascia new daytime running light and a resized grille, where LTZ has got new 20-inch alloy wheels with premium all-terrain tires.
Title changes, however, are inside a completely redesigned dashboard.
There’s a new 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch configurable digital instrument cluster. The outgoing model has only an 8.0-inch screen, as well as an analog gauge with a digital data screen.

US-market ZR2 is shown
GMSV did not elaborate on the full list of features of each model, but said that the LTZ Premium will be available with a technology pack with a jet black leather-mounted interior, adaptive cruise control and a digital rear-view mirror, 15-inch. Color head-up display, and a bed-view camera.
In the release of the updated track, Chevrolet has confirmed that Silverrado’s infotainment system runs on Google’s operating system with built-in Google Assistant and Google Maps.
Unlike other vehicles that use Google’s built-in, such as the Polyester 2, Chevrolet says the new system includes both Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
It further states that all updated Silverado models will come standard with autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, as well as lane-keep assist, lane-exit warning and automatic high-beam.

New V outgoing Silverado 1500
The outgoing, locally re-engineered LT Trail Boss lacked some of these features, including AEB.
By the end of May 2022, GMSV had sold 565 Silverado 1500s and 198 examples of Silverado HD.
This puts the two Chevrolets behind their rival Rams: 1500 (1680 sales) and 2500 (235), Ram Truck Australia sells 24 more examples of the Ram 3500.
Like the Silverados, the rams have been re-engineered locally by Wakinsho.
Both pickup truck lines will have to contend with another rival, as the Ford F-150 – the best-selling car in its home market in the United States – will arrive here in 2023, RMA Automotive will re-engineer the imported truck on the right – a hand drive for Ford.
Like the RAM, the GMSV only comes with a few pickup truck variants, but is offered in a wider range in North America.
There, Silverado is available in WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, ZR2 and High Country variants.
It is offered with different tub lengths, regular, double and crew cab body styles and engine preferences including turbo-petrol four- and turbo-diesel six-cylinder engines and 5.3-liter or 6.2-liter petrol V8s.
