2022 Ford Ranger, Everest: Over 19,000 orders, waiting up to nine months

New delivery Ranger Going to start, though Ford Some customers are warned to wait until the new year to take delivery.

That customers have placed relevant orders Everest Long waits can also be an experience.

The longest wait is for the most expensive Ranger variant.

Ford says that if you order a new Ranger Raptor today, it may take about nine months to arrive, although the company warns that the situation is changing regularly.

The Wildtrak V6 models ordered today can take up to eight months to arrive, and vehicles with the optional $ 1500 Wildtrak premium pack are exclusively supply-limited.

“We have also seen very strong demand for the premium packs for the Next-Gen Ranger Wildtrack, which will take some time to work through the limited supply of the given semiconductor,” said a spokesman for Ford Australia.

“If customers want to remove the premium pack from their order, they will be able to pick up their Ranger delivery soon.”

The premium pack includes a 10-speaker bang and Olufsen sound system, matrix LED headlights, auxiliary switches and a full LED tail light.

The first delivery of Ranger will start in July, the delivery of Ranger Raptor and Everest will start in August.

Ford says there are 19,000 orders for Ranger and Everest, including 4,000 for Ranger Raptor and 2,000 for Everest.

Everest is not immune from the long wait. Ford says you can wait up to seven months for top-spec platinum if you order today.

The company advises customers to talk to their dealer, as some stocks are still available depending on the dealer, location and specification.

It says that after the Ranger Wildtrack V6, customers can see the bi-turbo four-cylinder model if they want a car soon, or opt for a V6-equipped XLT or Sport.

Similarly, it says that other Everest forms are now more widely available than platinum.

It is sending a letter to customers advising delay, sharing a letter Ford Ranger Next General Owners Australia Caution “It will take months for our full supply to come to power”.

The letter, signed by Ford Australia President and CEO Andrew Birkick, said: “Especially for high-demand models, especially the Ranger Wildtrack 3.0L V6, we will probably see a waiting list in 2023.

“This varies depending on location and specification, so your local dealer is given the best place to share the most up-to-date information about your vehicle’s arrival.”

The company says it is “working clockwise”, accelerating air-freighting equipment and accurate arrival forecasts, which is usually due to strong demand for a new generation of Australia’s second-best-selling cars.

The Blue Oval brand says it is not only sending communications about waiting times for customers waiting in the Ranger, but also other products because it not only deals with the shortage of semiconductor chips but also with supply chain problems caused by the COVID-19 lockdown.

The company had earlier said that Ranger and Ranger Raptor were coming in June and July, respectively, but the COVID-19 lockdown in China has disrupted the supply of various components.

Ford said the Chinese Covid lockdown affected 91 suppliers and 393 unique parts used in the Ranger.

Customers who order a new Ranger can not only wait a while, they can also get the expected delivery fee on their shipment.

The company said it did not set the fees or recommend any fee amounts, forcing its franchise dealers to charge $ 903 and $ 5995 – according to buyers on social media.

A potential owner who has been contacted Care Expert Says they received a $ 1895 delivery fee when they last ordered their Ranger in December 2020, but added a $ 3500 fee to their new Ranger order from the same dealership.

“Although dealer delivery fees are set independently by dealers, we are keen to remind customers that we have more than 180 dealers nationwide and welcome them to work with dealers of their choice,” said a Ford Australia spokesperson.

“We have a new online configurator, ford.com.au, so customers can keep their postcodes, configure their cars and get an estimated drive-away price, which includes an estimated dealer delivery charge.”

When setting a Ranger price on the Ford Australia website, a dealer delivery fee of $ 2140 is listed, regardless of state or region.

Dealer Delivery is a catch-all cost that covers the time and labor involved in cleaning, inspecting and handing over the car to the customer.

These charges vary from dealer to dealer and can be set by the dealer to inflate the drive-away price without affecting the proposed retail price set by the manufacturer.

Like the previous Ranger and Everest, the new generation models were designed and engineered for the world by Ford’s Australian engineering division.

They use an updated version of the T6 architecture but take big steps in technology.

The new Ranger will also be the basis for the next-generation Volkswagen Amarok, which will be released on July 7.
