Polyester on Wednesday unveiled the first details of the Powertrain for its Polyester 5 Four-Door Grand Tour, which debuted in prototype form at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
A pair of motors that will enable all-wheel drive Polyester 5 will power the Goodwood Mountains. Together, Polyester is aiming for two motors to produce 884 hp and 663 pound-feet of torque. The automaker did not cite specific output for each motor but noted that the rear motor is more powerful.

Polyester further confirmed that the 5 will have an 800-volt electrical architecture, which will enable faster charging.
Lots of power and an 800-volt architecture will help the Polstar take on the Porsche. During a presentation last year, the automaker compared the 5T to the Porsche Tycoon and the Panama. Recall that the Tycoon was one of the first EVs to feature an 800-volt architecture, although it has expanded to other new EV platforms, such as Hyundai’s e-GMP architecture.
Polyester 5 prototype at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed
The Polyester 5 will also have styling based on the Polyester Precept concept, which was first shown in February 2020. While the prototype displayed in Goodwood is in disguise, leaked patent images indicate that most of the styling of the concept will be shifted to the production version, which is set to launch in 2024. However, it will probably launch late enough in the calendar year that it will not be the 2024 model.
Before the launch of the Polyester 5, we will see the Polyester 3 medium sized SUV. It will debut in October and will begin production in 2023 at factories in China and Volvo’s South Carolina. The SUV, like the Polestar 4 coupe, will be unveiled in 2023 and will likely be a rival to the upcoming electric Porsche Macan.
Thanks to turbocharging and clever hybrid systems, speed is no longer enough to make a great poster car. Instead, the vehicles that are now parked are the ones that manage to pull the driver’s heartstrings. Whether it’s because of their sharp looks or the intoxicating sound, these six-digit machines have to offer more than ever when simultaneously road-driving performance pushes the boundaries of what vehicles can do.
Write this week’s tester, the Ferrari F7 Tribute, the latest in a long line of V8-powered machines mounted on horseback. Thanks to its arrow-focused design, excellent performance and rewarding driving experience, the F8 is a car that awakens all your senses. However, one of the most exciting aspects of this supercar is not how the full throttle behaves but how it invites its driver to travel miles.
A glance at the Ferrari F8 Tribute immediately reveals how its designers focused on aerodynamics. The F8 is the most angular of all the cars that the Italian carmaker has introduced in the last decade, full of eclipses, vents, and clever arrows throughout. Take, for example, the front end, which borrows from the 488 pistachio with its clever S-Duct that starts out like a small opening on the front bumper but cuts through the hood, allowing air to flow more easily over the car. Although the system is impressive from an engineering point of view, Ferrari incorporates it in such a way that it blends in nicely with the overall design of the vehicle, almost hidden from view.
The farther you look at the F8, the smaller the ducts and intakes you’ll notice, such as being cleverly positioned above the headlights. The result of this change is the 108 percent more aerodynamically efficient car than the 488 GTB that has been replaced, providing more downforce without the increased drag coefficient. However, the most notable design achievement of the F8 is that it adopts all these functional components and implements them in a way that gives the car a very aggressive look, apparently distinguishing itself from its previous models.

The rear is probably the biggest example of this, ditching old dual tail lights in exchange for a set of small quad lamps neatly attached to the bottom of the rear spoiler. The position of the lights adds depth to the rear of the F8, which almost invites pedestrians to take a closer look at all its intricate details. Like the front, there are plenty of clever 488 pistachio-inspired arrows.
Although historically, most of the cars wearing printing horses left the factory wearing red coats, my tester did not. Instead, it ends in Blue Corsa, a very vibrant shade of blue that helps accentuate the car’s body lines while reflecting a ton of light, resulting in a very bright finish. Throw in the optional set of 20-inch wheels, and my tester is probably one of the best-specific F8 I’ve ever seen. Combined with all the design improvements and arrow elements, you have a car that is not only impressive, but truly beautiful.
Performance / drive
Another gift from the 488 Pistar to strengthen the Ferrari F7 Tribute. It produces a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 710 horsepower and 568 pounds of torque. Thanks to its sub-3,200-pound carb weight, the F8 hits 62 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds before continuing at a top speed of 211 miles per hour. While these figures are undoubtedly hypercar fast, they don’t tell the whole story of the F8 because perhaps the most impressive thing about this mid-engine Ferrari is how it delivers that performance.
Lower your legs anywhere in the rev range and move the F8 Tributeo rocket forward. If you’re at stoplights or triple-digit speeds, the Twin-Turbo V8 always has something more to offer, as if the steam never runs out. Despite peak torque of 3,250 rpm, there is virtually no turbo lag The power that a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission transmits to the rear wheels is equally fast and incredibly responsive. With instant upshifts and crispy downshifts, the F8’s transmission and engine are perfectly matched to make full use of the available power.
Thanks to a huge set of standard carbon-ceramic brakes, the F8 can not only slow down from its mind-boggling run but it can repeat, without any noticeable discoloration no matter how much it is pushed into multiple hours of driving.
Turn an angle, and the steering of the F8 will reward you with an excellent response with a very nimble front edge grip endlessly. It’s a car that you can throw very quickly at an angle of ten miles per hour and it can still somehow hold on to your favorite life. Of course, we got all the arrow bits mentioned to thank for it. However, in addition to the sheer handling performance, the F8 provides an incredibly composite drive. It was virtually impossible to misuse the F8 during multiple runs through the canyon. All of its stability and traction systems are nicely tuned to keep you on the side of a hill, despite the fact that a normal road can really handle the kind of speed it pushes.
Once things slow down a bit, and F8 is tasked with navigating a crowded city like Los Angeles, it reveals another aspect of his personality. This is because, thanks to its magnetic dampers, its suspension is quite comfortable, soaking up even the most significant imperfections on the road. Despite the lack of a lift system in front of my tester, it was no problem, cleaning the driveways even if there was only a penny wide space left. The secret behind the F8’s comfort is its bumpy road mode, which softens the suspension, no matter what driving mode you’re in.
The interior of the Ferrari F8 Tributo looks like nothing else on the market. All of its infotainment and driver-friendly controls target the person behind the wheel, making them not only easy to operate but also quickly accessible. The star of the show is undoubtedly the steering wheel, which has more buttons than the cockpit of an aircraft. In addition to the big red start button, the wheel keeps your indicator, drive mode, suspension mode and windshield wiper settings. While the attack of the buttons is frightening at first glance, their purpose becomes clear as there is more room for the F8’s great large fixed pedals.
In terms of entertainment, the F8 may have the smallest infotainment screen I’ve ever seen. However, thanks to the optional Apple CarPlay connection, there is no lack of features. While its size is a flaw, the fact that it integrates nicely with the dash is a major plus, eliminating the need for an extra screen on the dashboard. Overall, the F8’s interior design is smooth and incredibly well combined, with enough leather to go around and reverse stitching.

My tester came with the F8’s flagship chair, a Daytona carbon-backed sport seat. Since these are the most aggressive options, they are far from the most comfortable available. However, inside a 710-hp supercar, they fit perfectly for their intended purpose. There is a lot of side support, keeping the driver in good position without too much pressure.
The interior offers surprisingly good sound insulation on the highway, nicely complementing the magnetic suspension mentioned above. The result is that the F8 is just a nice place. Owners of such cars will want to drive miles.
The Ferrari F8 Tributo is a premium product that provides a premium experience and its price tag must reflect that. Despite having a base price below 27 277,000, optional accessories like stunning paint, optional wheels, carbon fiber trim, and Apple CarPlay quickly surpassed 350,000. However, the F8 is a vehicle that delivers on virtually every front, delivering outstanding performance while at the same time pulling the driver’s heartstrings as a proper supercar. While competitors offer similar performances for the same amount of money, F8 Nails is offering a $ 350,000 experience.
The latest thought
Whether it draws you in with its angular appearance or impressive power figures, there is a lot of love about the Ferrari F8 Tribute. The term “daily driver supercar” is widely used these days. However, F8 is a true embodiment. Although its twin-turbo powerhouse with an engine provides enough speed to scare experienced drivers, its suspension and interior are comfortable enough to withstand the worst roads in the city. As a result, the F8 is a car that makes driving accessible regardless of speed, inviting its driver to spend more time behind the wheel. Thanks to its endless charm and power, the F8 stands out as a perfect V8 Ferrari that draws on its tradition while embracing modern technology in search of insane performance.
Dodge’s long-awaited electric muscle car concept looks set to debut with a few more new products from Dodge.
On Thursday, Dodge announced that there would be three releases on the 2022 Woodward Dream Cruise by the end of this summer. The company calls it Dodge Speed Week and is set to announce something around its current muscle cars on August 15th, a “Gateway Muscle” car on August 16th and a “Future Muscle” ride on August 17th.
Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said the timeline jib Motor authority. With hellets set to die after the 2023 model year, the announcement of the “current muscle” car is probably one or more send-off variants. We hope that these special editions will have unique paint, graphics and / or wheels. The extra power could be on the tap, although Kuniskis vowed that the Demon would be the most powerful muscle car ever made by an automaker. In terms of the impending transition to electric vehicles, we assume that only gas-powered muscle cars are related.
The “gateway muscle” car is probably a 2023 Hornet crossover SUV. Set as a re-skinned alpha tonal, Hornet will promise Dodge of a plug-in hybrid in 2022. Spy shots seem to confirm that the Hornet’s external differences from the tonal are limited to the headlights, grille, front fascia, and wheels. Internal differences may be limited to badging and color, although the Hornet may be more spartan with lower quality material. The tonal has a turbo-4 feature that connects the front wheels to an electric motor that drives the rear wheels combined 272 hp.
Dodge electric concept car teaser
The grand finale of the release will be the “Future Muscle” car, which is undoubtedly the concept version of the electric 2024 muscle car. Kuniskis said earlier M.A. It will be a full-on working model capable of high-performance driving. The executive said Dodge “plans to electrify differently than everyone else.” He did not elaborate, however, saying the team was still waiting for some patents to be finalized. Kuniskis had previously said that the release would take place in the first quarter of 2022, so it was clearly behind schedule.
Dodge Dream Cruise Public Display 2022 The Woodward Dream Cruise will be open to enthusiasts on August 20th to see all of these new products.
The prototype of BMW’s Concept XM has been seen again, which ensures that the designs of the two vehicles will be very similar.
The XM is a new flagship SUV closely related to the X7, with wheelbases common to both models. And as the name implies, the XM is a dedicated BMW M model, the first since the M1 was launched more than four decades ago. The XM will be coming later this year to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the BMW M, which means we have to look at it as a 2023 model.
There are still a lot of camouflage gears but we can already make the shape of the grill. You’ll also notice that there’s a thin strip at the front of the hood, just like the concept, but instead of the concept’s ceiling-mounted lights, the production XM’s secondary lights are at the bottom of the front fascia. This new split-headlight design will be shared with BMW’s redesigned 2023 7-Series and updated 2023 X7.
On the back, the roof-mounted spoiler holds the twin-peak design of the concept, albeit in a tone-down fashion. The design motif is a compliment on the back of the M1, the concept even has a small BMW logo on each peak. Also common with the idea is the exhaust tips stacked on either side of the rear diffuser insert.
We can’t see the interior but here we expect a similar design to the concept. This means that screens for instrument cluster and infotainment systems will be added and will feature a floating design, which we first saw on the iX. The concept features two separate seats on the back, though the production model will likely offer a three-seat bench option.
We know that Powertrain will be a plug-in hybrid setup that uses a newly developed 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 as an internal-combustion component. Combined outputs will be around 750 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque, making the XM the most powerful BMW road car ever. If engineers go with BMW’s existing plug-in hybrid design, a single electric motor sandwich will be made between the V-8 and the transmission.

BMW Concept XM
BMW reported Motor authority Concept reveals in XM that a battery with a capacity of more than 20 kWh will provide some decent electrical range.
While this has not yet been confirmed, a Temer version of the plug-in hybrid setup may be offered on a Base XM, while the 750-hp version is reserved for something like the XM Competition model.
The M Division has already hinted at an electrified future with the Vision M Next concept of 2019, a plug-in hybrid supercar that sadly no longer seems production-dependent. BMW’s in-house tuner and motorsport division is also building battery-electric powertrains. The first of these is the 536-hp setup on the i4 M50. An iX M60 has also been launched, and we’ve heard that by 2024 the next M5 plug-in may come with a choice of hybrid or battery-electric power. Stay tuned.
McLaren Artura is getting a GT4 racing variant. Debuting at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it replaces the 570S GT4 with McLaren’s low-end customer race car.
Compared to the GT3 class which is the domain of the McLaren 720S GT3, there are more limitations on changing the GT4. So the Artura GT4 retains most of the bodywork of the road car, but creates more downforce on the track with a large front splitter, dive plane, a front groove and a rear spoiler.
However, since the GT4 rules do not allow hybrid powertrains, McLaren had to exclude electrical components from Arthur’s powertrain. Recall that the Artura Road car is a plug-in hybrid with an twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission with an integrated electric motor.
McLaren Artura GT4
Instead, the Artura GT4 only gets the V-6, with a 7-speed gearbox that is unique to race cars. The Mt38 used in the V-6 570S GT4 is lighter than the M838 twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-8, McLaren said in a press release, eliminating the 286-pound shaved plug-in hybrid system compared to the Artura Road car. , Including good throttle response and fuel economy.
McLaren did not discuss the output, but we do know that the V-6 Artura Road car produces 577 hp and 431 pound-feet of torque, without electrical assistance. The final output of the Artura GT4 will probably depend on the balance of performance calculations.
McLaren has installed a 24-gallon fuel cell with motorsport-spec fuel pump and moved low-temperature radiators inside to protect against on-track damage. The Artura GT4 features a mechanical limited-slip differential.
McLaren Artura GT4
The Artura’s new McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) tub facilitates entry and exit on the 570 GT4’s MonoCell design, which, according to McLaren, helps speed up driver change. These drivers sit in a fixed FIA 8862-spec seat with a 720S GT3-inspired steering wheel (actually more than a yoke) facing, adjustable pedals.
Since the Artura GT4 is a consumer race car designed for drivers of various skill levels, it also gets a handful of driver assistance. Race-tuned anti-lock brakes and traction control are standard, while tire-pressure monitors, a collision-avoidance system and ride-height sensors are optional. Other options include a V-box telemetry, a damper potentiometer that measures the suspension position, a brake infrared sensor, extra lighting for night racing and a drinking arrangement.

Volkswagen on Wednesday teased the idea of an electric sedan called ID.Aero. Scheduled for its public debut on June 27, it previews a future production model that will be sold in China, Europe and North America.
In a press release with teaser images, VW said ID.Aero will carry styling hints from previous ID-family models such as ID.4 and ID.Buzz. The idea is to share VW’s MEB platform with those models, however, at 16.4 feet tall, it will probably be the largest footprint of any MEB-based model so far. It is actually a bit smaller than a VW atlas.
A production version of ID.Aero is expected to be sold in China in the second half of 2023, followed by North America and Europe. VW did not specify the exact time, but said that a European and North American-spec version would be published in 2023, shortly after which production would begin in Emden, Germany.
VW has teased a large MEB-based EV before. ID Vizzion was a big sedan concept that debuted at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and followed the ID Space Vision wagon concept at next year’s Los Angeles Auto Show.
ID.Aero is the third VW-brand EV to be confirmed for the US VW with the ID.4 crossover, which the automaker plans to manufacture at its Chattanooga, Tennessee factory. It plans to increase production later this year.
The ID.Buzz electric microbus tribute is also coming to the United States, but not until 2024. Granted, VW does not plan to display US-spec IDs. Until next year Aero, it is possible that ID.Buzz will leave ID.4 as the only all-electric model in the VW showroom for quite some time until the sedan arrives.
Polyester is not far behind with its upcoming four-door grand tour.
Polyester 5 will make a complete pack 650kW Of power and 900Nm The amount of torque from its dual-motor electric powertrain, even up to 90kW on the most powerful Porsche Tycoon, has an extra 150Nm on tap in the Taycan Turbo S. Porsche.
Like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, the Polestar 5 will have an 800V architecture designed to allow quick charge times of electricity on a DC Ultra-Rapid plug.
A prototype version of the Polyester 5 will compete with Goodwood Hillclimb at the Speed Festival next week. However, it will be 2024 before the production version graces the road.
Dr. before polyester5, which will look like a concept concept, will offer “class-leading dynamics, rigidity and safety features” for its bonded aluminum chassis.
It will follow the wheel track of the already sold Polestar 2, which is already on sale, the Polestar 3 SUV (to be released this year), and the smaller Polestar 4 SUV (scheduled for 2023).
Underneath the skin says a new bonded aluminum chassis polyester that will be stiffer than the current two-door sports car or supercar. Although it is powerful, the brand claims that its body-in-white weight will be less than that of the car in small portions.
“The combination of powerful electric motor engineering capabilities with advances in light-weight platform technology is leading to truly stunning driver’s cars,” said Jorge Brandshaid, head of polyester research and development.
Weight loss will be followed by fatigue and constant tiredness. Weight is the enemy of range, and lithium-ion batteries are incredibly heavy, so lighting the rest of the car is important.
The production techniques used here will be applied to other future polyester products. Bonded aluminum structures have traditionally been reserved for low-volume sports cars, but the brand claims that its new manufacturing process is faster and more mass-production friendly than the more traditional methods.
Like other polyester cars, the 5 will be made in China and sold worldwide.
The name Polyester has come a long way since it began collaborating with motorsports firm Volvo in 1995. In 2013, the company began tuning Volvo for improved performance.
Polyester’s tuning arm was purchased in 2015, the motorsports division turned into cyan racing. In 2017 Polestar became its own standalone brand, and was tasked with becoming Geely’s flagship brand for electric vehicles.
The brand is currently preparing to form its partnership with Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) Gores Guggenheim, in an expected move to raise about 50 850 million ($ A1.2 billion).
The increase will support the Sweden-based EV brand, founded by Volvo and Zhejiang Gili Holding Group, with its aggressive growth plan featuring a model launch each year.
Polyester’s common stock should start trading on Nasdaq from June 24 under the new ticker symbol ‘PSNY’.
Polyester is expected to increase its annual sales to 290,000 by 2025, which is expected to increase from 29,000 in 2021 to break even by 2023.

Toyota Motor Corporation Japan has again lowered its upcoming production target in response to the ongoing covid-related disaster with a major supplier.
The latest production suspensions announced will be at the Motomachi plant (July 4-8, and July 11-15), and at the Takaoka plant (July 11-15, and July 18-22) in two weeks.
Vehicles damaged due to the production breakdown will include Toyota GR Yaris and BZ4X and Lexus LC.
More worrying, however, is that the popular Toyota RAV4 has also been affected, and there is currently an 18-month waiting period in Australia as things stand.
TMC said its expected global production for July is now about 800,000 units, about 50,000 less than what suppliers said earlier this year.
“Due to the continuing impact of a COVID-19 outbreak on one of our suppliers, we have decided to extend the operation suspension on some of our plants and production lines,” the company said.
“We apologize again to Toyota for repeatedly adjusting our production plans … and for causing considerable inconvenience to our customers who are waiting for the supply of vehicles, suppliers and other concerned parties.”
TMC last week cut its June factory output for the third time in several weeks, lowering its monthly production target to about 750,000 units.
TMC has been forced to lower its production targets with astonishing regularity by publishing more than a dozen production ‘adjustment’ bulletins this year. Causes stated include chip deficiency and COVID outbreak – both in plants and suppliers.
Toyota still says that group-wide output will be 9.7 million vehicles this Japanese fiscal year (ending March 31), less than the initial estimate of 11 million vehicles expected to return to the global supply chain this year.
Even in this best case scenario, the loss of nearly 1.3 million vehicles from the global allocation would send shockwaves across all major Toyota regions – not all of Australia, where the company has a market share of 20 percent north.
Toyota Australian dealers are navigating an ongoing long-running stock shortage, with some customers being asked to prepare for years of waiting on key models, including the Land Cruiser, RAV4 and Camry.
Print-out guidelines for prospective customer waiting times are being offered by a number of dealers on the East Coast, subject to change based on the Toyota construction process. We’ve seen some of these guidelines in the car forum, others we’ve seen ourselves
Multiple dealers expect customers to expect a waiting period of about 18-24 months for a newly ordered Toyota RAV4 hybrid and 12-24 months for a Toyota Camry hybrid – two vehicles in high demand today due to record fuel prices.
This author knows a lot of people who have mentioned the 18-month wait for their RAV4 hybrid over the last few weeks, so check it out.
The average recommended lead time in the LandCruiser 300 series is similarly listed as 18-24 months – we know that the related Lexus LX also has year-round waiting – whereas the LandCruiser 70 is listed with three to four waiting times. Years, “or never”.
This last figure could be hyperbol and was challenged by TMC.
For its part, Toyota Australia acknowledges the long wait but says there is not really a one-size-fits-all deadline, as each dealership has a separate pipeline.
“The demand for new vehicles is at an unprecedented level. To support strong demand in Australia, Toyota Australia is working closely with our global production team to secure as many cars as possible for our market, ”it said.
“Waiting times vary depending on each customer’s model, variant and specification requirements. The RAV4 Hybrid, the Camry Hybrid, the LandCruiser 70 and the LandCruiser 300 are in high demand and currently have a long wait.
“Due to the growing nature of this situation, Toyota dealers are in the best position to continue providing customer updates on the delivery timeframe for individual orders.”

BMW Its long awaited – and first – fully revealed M3 Turing Wagon this week ahead of an in-the-metal premiere at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed.
But let’s be honest; Processed press images of gray and black cars are not a patch of real-life shots, sent by our spy photographers in Europe ever since.
Check out this alluring green M3 Turing that shows us more accurately what to expect when we see the Laird Load-Lugar hit in Australia in the first quarter of 2023.
The bright green paintwork contrasts with the gloss black wheel, skirt, front and rear bumper / diffuser, roof rail, mirror and spoiler.
On the front page of the Bavarian brand’s customization section, BMW Individual, you will find the low-slang, long-roofed Audi RS4 Avant rival.
As we know, the BMW M3 uses the Turing M3 Competition engine: a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six with 375kW of power and 650Nm of torque, coupled with an eight-speed transmission and a rotating all-wheel drive with an active rear. Differential
Expect 100km / h dash time from a zero of just 3.6 seconds.
The M3 Turing actually became the fastest production wagon in the vicinity of Nবারrburging, beating the Mercedes-AMG E63S in 10 seconds.
In practical terms, the rear-seat backrests can be split into 40:20:40 format and the 500L boot into the sedan above 20L. There are also anti-slip rails rising from the floor.
